Anyone who ever thought they were a racist, or thought they weren't a racist, should see this movie. It will challenge the preconceptions you have of both yourself and others.

Yes, I've read a lot of his books, and sadly, this has been the most disappointing so far. To be fair, I haven't read all of the trilogy yet. In some of his early works, though, by now in my reading I would have been completely vested in the characters, feeling their pain, sharing their joy, and anticipating, even dreading, their ends. Not so with the Genesis trilogy — the Jerle Shannara and the High Druid trilogies were only a little better. The Word and The Void trilogy at least introduced us to a new mythos located in our familiar world, but even that was diluted with the Genesis trilogy.

I keep reading, mostly out of nostalgia for the original Shannara series and the follow-up Heritage series. My daughter's middle name is Shea, taken straight from the novels! I even cried when I foreshadowed Amberle's fait to sacrifice herself to "save" the Elcryss. No such heartfelt outpourings anymore though. These days, I'm struggling just to finish each book.

Well put – have you read alot of the Terry Brooks books? Personally, I look forward to every September when he puts out his new ones. Not sure what he's going to do this year since he would up the latest trilogy.

Well in my humble opinion the story lacked obvioius…lol! Just kidding, another good story by Island. Ive had the privilege of reading a few of these over the years.

I may use it as part of wider story, but for now, I woke up from the bad dream right where the story ends, and had to write it down before I forgot it. I actually wrote it a few years ago and found it again while digging through old files on a backup hard drive.

I was thinking that it was going to be another friend looking for them, and he was riddled with bullet holes. That's what I get for trying to predict the ending. Very well done, run with it and make it longer.

You didn't mention that I shouldn't read it right before bed! Awesome story, and great visuals. I kept thinking that maybe it was just some sort of illusion, or that something totally normal was just tricking their eyes, and they'd figure it out in the end. And then I would know what it was too! Loved the story!
